How This Guide Helps
The Buena Vista County Sheriff's Office creates and keeps county jail booking material and publishes a current-custody PDF without portraits. Iowa Courts Online records what happens after an allegation reaches court, while the Iowa Department of Corrections serves people in the state correctional system. When a released person's booking sheet or intake photograph is not online, Iowa Code chapter 22 provides the request framework. This site gathers those official paths and practical lookup steps in one place without copying their records or images.
Resources Covered Here
The pages focus on the distinct sources available in Buena Vista County and explain what each one can and cannot show.
- The county records guide covers current jail custody, recent-booking limitations, booking sheets, photo requests, and Iowa removal law.
- Most Wanted Fugitives explains the lawful warrant-verification path because the sheriff publishes no local wanted gallery or public warrant portal.
- The guide separates the current jail roster from Iowa Courts Online and the Iowa Department of Corrections offender search.
- It explains how to request a named booking record and an associated intake photograph as separate items when neither is publicly posted.
Limits of This Site
This is a privately operated reference site. It has no connection to an Iowa government agency, sheriff's office, jail, court, or corrections department.
- We cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone in custody.
- We cannot post bond, arrange a visit, or send money for a visitor.
- We cannot offer legal advice or decide whether a record must be released.
- We cannot promise that an address, phone number, fee, or policy has not changed.
Only the responsible sheriff, jail, court, or corrections office can confirm custody, charges, release, or the availability of an official record.
Search Partners
Some site pages contain search tools run by independent providers. Those providers set their own prices and control their results. If a visitor follows a tool to a paid signup, this site may receive a referral fee that helps keep the guide available at no charge. We do not set partner pricing or guarantee what a partner search will return.
